We look forward to seeing you and your decorated bike for this year's best winter activity: the Festival of Lights Parade, of course!
Meet either at my garage (121st and Maple) at 4:15 pm for the ride in, OR meet the group on Gregory, somewhere north of MetroSouth at 5 pm. As of this posting, we haven't been given a parade #, so I can't be more specific than to say "look for the bikes!"
All bicycles or bike riders need to have lights on them to ride with the group. We recommend the small, battery operated LED light strands which are available at Walgreens, Target and Ikea, but any self-powered lighting is fine (even if it's only blinkies or glow sticks).

Pretty awesome, eh?
Make sure you dress in lots of layers!!!! Kids: wear snow pants if you have them--it is usually VERY cold for this event. You must have gloves or mittens, a hat or ear muffs, boots, and a good coat.
NOT okay to wear: tennis shoes, one shirt under your coat (dress in layers, dress in layers, dress in layers!), footwear that is too tight (oversized shoes or boots are good: put a layer of newspaper in the bottom, put a plastic bag around your sock, put the boot/shoe on over everything), or scarves (they can get caught in your wheel). Santa suits are also not allowed (although Santa hats are okay).
Chemical hand warmers and foot warmers are lovely. You can buy them at Walgreens or the hardware store.
